Varistream 2
« on: November 08, 2005, 05:25:52 pm »
I have two pumps on two reels.I used to have a lot of switch burn out but now have a varistream controller (the bees knees and advise anyone to get one)
What i would like to know is some of you have a 100psi pump operating two poles from one varistream. Both of mine are 60psi so can i connect both pumps to one varistream aslong as i control the pump pressure or do i need two varistreams?Ive asked the suppliers and obviously as they need the sales they will say i need two but im asking you hands on all those who have them.

Thanks

Hi Easyclean

I have 2 x 100 psi flojet pumps fitted side by side. But only have the one wired up to the varistream, the other can be connected if the one pump fails. I run two brushes off one pump.

I dont think you could run two pumps of one controler.

Thanks for that roy.Do you think a 60psi pump could handle two poles or would it not be enough even with the varistream set on max?

I don't see how you could run 2 pumps off 1 varistream. think about it. When you turn the water off on your pole hose the varistream senses the pressure change and switches the pump off. so if you have 2 pumps running it's going to get confused electronically. I know that if I turn the Varistream right up there is a huge ammount of water coming out the brush so A 60PSI pump may well run 2 poles.
I guess it would depend on the working height and most of all the diametre of your pole hose. the bigger the diametre the less restriction on your water flow.
I use 8mm bore for pole hose, still has to go through the jets though. DAI

Hi Easyclean

I used to run two poles off a shurflow 60 psi pump and it ran fine, but that was before I had a varistream and the preasure switches would burn out within days.

So I think it will run it fine I use half inch tricoflex to the pole then 4mm.

Regards Roy :)

A varistream is a electrical control unit for your wfp pump.
It takes away the need for a switch on the pump which have a very common way of burning out alot when the water from the pump through your poles are regulated alot.
The varistream controls the pump and will only allow enough water through the pump as required whn a setting has been set.

You can get from many suppliers the lowest i found was £75.00

Easyclean
It will work fine at that hight, as I have sometimes been working at forty feet and some one else has been at 18ft at the same time, and we have had no problems.

You may have to turn up the flow rate when two are working though.

Roy. :)
