Backpack Flow Controller Packed Up :(
« on: October 14, 2011, 08:10:17 pm »
Hey Guys,

I have a John Hewitt ESR16 backpack that I use for all of my round. Today the flow controller stopped working so my water is flying out at maximum flow, which is far to fast for me.

Does anyone know where I can get a spare, John doesnt have them in stock. Also, can I run the pump at full speed and use an inline tap to slow the flow down or will doing that damage the pump?

Thanks, Gary

its the same backpack as the window cleaning warehouse one.
My flow controller numpty broke off yesterday! got no flow at all.
Rang window cleaning warehouse this morning and they are sending one out.
£14.95. This is for the switch complete
hope this helps
Chris.

Hey guys,

Thanks for all the replies, if i make a return, then I would think that when working at height, my pressure will drop too much as the water will take the easiest route, which will be back into the backpack through the return.

So, does anyone know if I use an inline tap to control the flow if that will damage the pump?

Cheers, Gary

is it a blue variable numpty with about 10 tabs on the back, if so you can get them on ebay for about £3 you will need to resolder the wires and resistors.

no pressure wont drop, you use a length of pipe to suit your
needs on my old pack with a return i cleaned to third floor
now prob and when the battery charge was going down i
would swop over to a single fitting i would carry in my pocket
so missing out the return, happy days again.

i try to get the max out of everything i use

Can anyone tell me which one of these is compatable with the WCW backpack, was gonna order one from wcw but think £22 is a bit steep, going by the amount of people having the same problem(control numpty snapping off)it must be a nice little earner for them.
