Taking over job when staff have pensions?
« on: October 13, 2011, 05:07:37 pm »
Any advice gratefully received on this as I have no experience of it. We're talking to an establishment where the employees have been there for many years and have council pensions. Under TUPE I'd imagine we'd need to take on the pensions but what implecations does this actually have and what would we need to do if / when we take them on?
Many thanks.

Not really sure on this one but I think you would need to speak to a Financial Advising firm that deals in pensions. I think if they had a stakeholder pension which the employee could choose to pay into whatever amount they wanted then the employer had to match it. If ou open up a stakeholdr for the employees then the funds would just transfer into it and you may have to match contributions.,as I say not really sure, you need better advice.
