WFP Advice
« on: October 11, 2011, 02:23:35 pm »
Hi Guys,

Newbie here, having been reading this forum for a few weeks now i think it's about time a did something about my thoughts.

Started off about 10 weeks ago knocking, dropping leaflets etc only had 1 window cleaner ring me and tell me to get off his patch ;D. Being doing trad but feel a WFP system will be better as ive got a few with windows above conserve's and will reduce the ladder marks etc in this soft grass because of all this rain.

The the main reason of my post was to ask what is the best system for a newbie to get, being looking at van mounted and trolley systems on ebay and various other online sites but not sure which is the best. I live in a hard water area so any advice or help will be great :D. Would consider a second hand system if anyone is selling one to get me going.

best is to read through as many posts as you want, look at youtube videos especially S.A.J 's window cleaning, and then decide if you would like to go DIY or fully installed, the later being more expensive. i would advise trying to get a days work with a wfp guy to get shown the ropes because it can be frustrating, as for trolly or van mount, i think im with most people when i say van mount is preferable, the results are the same but you will get tired of filling up from barrels, if your water is hard ie above 100tds (a meter will tell you this) you will need an R O system, reasearch these on here to decide what you need

van mount mate the cost of a trolley and all the kit is just as expensive as a van mount , as long as you're happy with a van .

If you are using a car and dont want the additional expense of buying a van then use a pure freedom trolley best on the market ,

I have just switched from a trolley to van mount i have a 400 ltr tank in the back of a L200 pick-up wished i had done it years ago.  MIKE

Thanks guys after sitting and watching some you tube clips it is the way i wanna go (the wife went nuts the other night sat for 3 hours watching different clips :D)

ive been looking at these systems on ebay the first one is from john hewitt i am sure i have read in other posts that he offer's good stuff.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/140612302281?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%3A80%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_from%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dp5039.m570.l1313%26_nkw%3D140612302281%26_sacat%3DSee-All-Categories%26_fvi%3D1&_rdc=1

the second one is a van mounted system

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PRO-400-LTR-WATER-FED-POLE-WINDOW-CLEANING-VAN-SYSTEM-/250810545039?_trksid=p5197.m7&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D2%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D3402497665571635901

i already have a van which this would fit in but equally i think a trolley system may be best as i have a couple of days work around terraced houses so getting the van around the backs could be a issue, i was thinking pole the tops and trad the bottoms?

like i say any advice taken on board and any window cleaners who want a free pair of hands for a day to show me the ropes on a wfp system in staffordshire get in touch  ;D

Get a pure freedom van mounted system, Its the only way to go, If you don't have much money then get the cheapest one 250 ltr and as you start earning then increase the size of tank.
You will get told lots of things but I bet you within 6months you be wishing that you had a van mounted system.
Good luck
