Ive been set up since May as a window cleaner and i'm loving it. Ive got 100 houses plus 6 days commercial work. just had a call tonight from an old guy in the town where i live who wants to sell me his 56 customers. 32 are flats and the remaining 24 are houses and bungalows. The only problem is his average price per house is only £4.21!!! He earns £230 per month and wants to charge me £2000 to buy them. Ive heard on the grapevine that if you are ever planning to buy, or sell customers then the going rate is 1.5 times the price per house. Is this correct ? I think he's asking way too much!!

I would think the going rate shoulb be 2-3 times revenue so yes sonds a bit pricey to me

i didi the same, got some work off a guy who was retiring and lad who moved back to OZ ( his story is in the PW mag)

i would only pay what the month is worth, thus 1 X the work, if your real keen, then 1.5 X is ok, and even 2 X at a push

but allmost 10 X

the guy must be having a laugh

Ave price £4.21 per house - way too low. I wouldn't do'em even if they were given to me! (If those flats are included in the average and I was really short of work I might offer 1 - 1.5  times the monthly value.)

yeah pretty much charge the same unless expensive carpets lots of furniture in the way ,the need for over shoes etc etc then its a bit more

For insides charge an extra 50% more then you would for the outsides.

If its £10 for the outside. Charge £15 for the inside.If they are smokers with plenty of nicotone on the windows Charge £20.

julian dont buy ask him were they are then keep your eye on them for a month to 6 weeks then if the windows are dirty canvass them cus at £4.21 hes doing you no favours 2x clean is about max,but if at that price you will always be in work,and you wont die rich,you will die of stavation.

save your cash and go door knocking, perhaps in the area that he's trying to sell, you may end up picking up his work for nothing

YOU WOULD HAVE TO PUT THE PRICES UP AND YOU WOULD PROBABLY LOSE SOME IN THE PROCESS
