i think the main difference between newbies and established guys, is that a newbie will go out and knock to get compact work, where as a established guy done it years ago and lost some and waits for the phone to ring with better priced work

my rounds really compact most of it only built over last 4 months. Majority of round is in 3 villages in an area of 4 miles.I knocked every door in these village`s. 260 customers in thses 3 villages alone and still growing every week.Havn`t canvassed in nearly 2 months.A compact round is still achieveable if your persistant.

i have some very compact work but ive been cleaning windows a long time.i also have some stand alone accounts and groups of 4 or 5 jobs together.i earn more some days cleaning say 8 single accounts than 25 compact accounts due to the size and price of them.

its hard when your starting out.i sold some work a few years ago because i just couldnt make it pay as id underpriced the work and couldnt really pick many more up due to another windy having the lions share of the work in that area.

if your work is well priced their is no need for compact work IMO esp if there bigger domestic houses.

My work is lovely and compact, 98% of it is within 3 miles diameter........  Not big houses but cuts down travelling time being so close, tho i wish travelled more in winter, could warm up abit!

Keep getting calls of canvassers trying to promote my website or advertise for me, how far do you travel sir, 25 mile radius?  15 mile?  10?  You mean all your work is within 3 miles of each other and your dont want to expand?!!

They never believe me, but its true!!  But i know many that go all over, in the belief that eventually they will get more work in that area.  Which they will, in the end.  With the recession i am having to open my mind to having to travel more than 30 seconds between houses...heaven forbid!!  :'(
