they changed it a really yellow one  that in my opnion is a bit flimsy  but am growing to like it now

They have not changed. you can choose between the old pole hose or the yellow one .

i find the yellow one never kinks BUT it punctures to easy , mines full of tape where there have been leaks

Not a great fan it seems to tangle easier. I have one with the old hose and one with the new we use every day. The new hose kinks more! Not a major thing just annoying if you are really busy

Older Orange hose suffers in the cold weather newer yellow hose although a little soft will probably be better in the Winter.

i am going to get some of the PU hose from Aqua adapter it is much more flexible and workable in heat and cold and less likely to twist and kink.  MIKE

Ive just bought 100metres of it in error  :

so gonna use it to extend the standard pole hose.

not fitted it yet but looks better than the crap they were using

they have changed the soft yellow hose to a much stiffer yellow hose , i bought some last week , and although i think it will last longer and puncture less than the previous hose , unfortunately you can,t pinch the hose to stop the water flow which for me is a big downside regards alan

I brought one of the Gardiner max-40 poles about 3 months ago, no quabbles what so ever with the pole or brushes and attachments, would reccomend it to anyone, but the hose is a complete nightmare on domestic work for punctures. The yellow hose is no match for large rose beds and sharp edges on brickwork. Can anyone please suggest a good alternative please.

There do seem to be two types.  I found the softer one sometimes pulls out of the pushfits too easily - pretty inconvenient if it's the pushfit at the brush end and the brush is 50ft in the air.  Yet to use the non pushfit fittings takes away the ability to do a quick change with the brush.
I haven't tried it yet but I'm considering the following:  Supergluing a small piece of John Guest tubing on the relevant ends of the pole hose in an attempt to force a better grip.  This will probably mean having to use slightly larger double female pushfits.  Here's hoping that they will fit through the section 1 clamp.

You did not dream it! From last Monday we started selling a new standard yellow pole hose that is tougher and more durable than the previous yellow hose and fully compatible with 8mm push-fit fittings. We are still selling both types though as some clients still prefer the very soft previous version.

bought my clx18 13months ago with the standard hose.

It kinks up once a week tops for me - god knows what you guys are doing with yours ! of and it gets used day in day out on about 95% of my work.
