Listening to Jezza today, and he said that they are researching an item regarding the TWAHD - this was prompted by the story regarding the vicar who had to pay for scaffolding to change his light bulbs.
He wants to hear from anyone with experience of TWAHD - be they customers who have had a workman refusing to go up ladders or workmen themselves who are affected by the directives.
This is a golden opportunity handed on a plate for the Federation and the PWCA to:
1) Inform window cleaners (who are not Fed members or members of forums such as this) around the country about the impact the TWAHD has on all of us.
2) Inform the public of the changes their professional window cleaner will be making.
3) Let the public know about the fact that there are trade associations representing the window cleaning profession.
4) Raise the profile of WFP.
Contact should be made via e-mail:
vine@bbc.co.uk As I said, I feel this is a golden opportunity - millions listen to Jeremy Vine as opposed to the night owls who watch Newsnight - what a way to raise public awareness, as I'm sure other tv/radio/newspaper opportunities will follow. I'm going to e-mail with some thoughts and I reckon a few other window cleaners should as well. But, the trade associations MUST act - come on guys, grab the opportunity for us all!
