Mike - here's a tip. Stop clicking on Gutter Cleaning posts  ;) It's a bit like moaning about Coronation Street. Solution - don't watch it!

As for your tip on 50-60 ft cleaning - are you a gutter cleaner? You've got a fantastic website but it doesn't say a lot about gutter cleaning.

60ft gutter cleaning is a nightmare that I would personally never undertake. 2 storeys is about 15ft-20ft so you're talking about 6-8 storeys. This is a job for someone with huge experience, carbon fibre poles and the strength of an England rugby player (or maybe France after today  :()

Jacqueline if your gutter job really is at 50-60 feet my advice would be to gently tell your client that you can't do it. Sorry to sound negative but like Doctor Who you are dealing with forces that you cannot comprehend.

errrrrr... ebay search 'aluminium mast' example below less than £45 !

was a guy on ebay selling gutter vac kit ... this is where he was purchasing poles we paid £60 for ours 2 yrs ago!

50 - 60ft probably omni pole errr .   these will work 2 storeys no prob!

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/24Foot-aluminium-MAST-SLOT-TOGETHER-4x6Foot-x-1-1-4-/110752904518?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item19c9633546

1 1/4 is 1.25'' and is 31.75mm. Smaller than really required. 50mm tubes are needed to be fair.

Geeee  Whizzzz and yeahh,just `chill out`here Mike ( Roberts )
Got to agree with Jaqueline Kerr here, having a bad day or what !!!! :o :o
I`m absolutely and totally `brassed`off to the back teeth and front
For that matter with all the `Groupon`threads, but some seem to `thrive`
On it. ??? ???
Mike ( am I safe here.hope so ) like I wrote before,I`m a complete `rookie`
Never ever cleaned gutters with a vac system. :-\ :-\
We all have to pay for our learning,I had to in the Seventies with carpet
Cleaning techniques and machines equipment etc. etc.
One thing I can tell ya,for myself personally,if to do a proper , thorough
Job for second story height no more than say 25 foot maximum.and it
Involves petrol driven electric generators for power suction then I for
One is definatley ,,,,out.Extention reels,,a doodle, just plug in and go.
Scoop and yourself are offering some great advice and posts here, the
Power of the forums and groups for help with learning is absolutely
Awesome. ::) ::) ::) ::)
It`s just that ya see some big money systems out there at 3 grand `a pop`
Plus.I assume they are for the real `chock a block`industrial / commercial
Stuff which dos`nt include myself.1200 to 1400 watt vac motors ain`t
Gonna go far on them jobs as I ( a rookie don`t forget) see it.
At this moment in time it`s looking like a Clark 20 or 30 model for me.
Funnily enough,my own gutters are full right now,was gonna get me
Ladders out yesterday but for the wind and rain. :'(

I want to turn my 3 stage carpet machine into a gutter vac. Seems the cheapest way. Has I have booked a few large gutter jobs.

`S`, rather than fiddle around with 3 stage vac motors, risking
Messing it up,ar`nt ya just as well going in for a Clark 20 or 30
Complete.?
There`s all the time spent `cobbling`together a DIY jobby.
It`s knowing that the Clark versions is decent `kit`and not
Having cheap `Christmas Cracker`motors, and flimsey poles
Etc. etc.
Ya`ll get ya money back in 3 or 4 jobs,6 at the most possibly less.
Just a thought, which is something Mike Roberts has more than
`hinted`at so far. ::) ::) ::) ::)

I thought about the clark 20. What worries me, is the vacuum might be a load of pants. Does anyone have one on here?

S, the Clark 20 is 1400W wet/dry vac. It is effectively a domestic but it will earn many times it's cost in gutter cleaning before it needs replacing. As a starter vac for up to 20ft gutter cleaning I would say it will be fine. It won't do everything but it will do 95% of what you need.

The Clark 20 machine you can pick up for £70ish, poles £60 and then a u bends. For £150. ( Which has been mentioned before). I will go down that route. The mirror, you must be able to pick up somewhere.

Mike, we are all mad-)
