Can this be repaired?
« on: October 07, 2011, 04:24:53 pm »
Customer has a material rip on the arm of her sofa (see photograph). Can this be repaired? If so would an upholsterer be able to do it and any idea of the price? Cheers!

Viscose. Upholsterer could use back cloth to repair arm and use new material on back. Try Downs in Dudley.

Onlt if the upholsterer can get the same material/ I usually tell the customer to get the upholsterer to use thesection from the back of the sofa ( usually up against the wall so never seen). Just replace the piece with a neutral colour cotton replacemant . Then you have a piece of the same material to use to replace the worn arm. Cost about 200- 300 for an upholsterer to do.
