Roof coatings/sealers
« on: October 07, 2011, 02:18:10 pm »
Hi guys,

Just been to look at a job and the guy was asking me if we could seal the roof after cleaning, have seen a few products out there but never really touched it before. Any advice on products? He doesnt want the colour changed, he just wants piece of mind i think.

Cheers,

Matt

Mate, i thought exactly the same thing.. ;) But the owner said that when he bought the house brand new, the tiles had some kind of seal on them when they were made. I dont doubt that he was tod this, but i did try and talk him out of resealing it. But its looking like he wants SOMETHING put on there after ive cleaned it, and no im not just gonna spray water on and tell him its sealant, ive already thought of that.. :-X

He is worried about water soaking into the tiles then freezing overnight up here in winter and messing something up.

Just wondered, as ive heard a few guys on here talk about this, just needing some advice on suppliers/products,

I see smartseal do a product, never used s/s but ive heard bad things bout the way they operate, but then again, ill only be buying product from them.. ???

Whatever you do don't buy from Advance Sealing. They put tints in a drum of sealant and label them Roof Coating or Tarmac Restorer.
