I was just wondering how early you guys and girls post or hand deliver customers chrissy cards?

If you work round every month Do you drop one in on the last clean b4 xmas or do you leave them untill a certain date or what
would like to max the tip situation but without looking needy

If like me you go round all of them every 6 weeks , the next week or so seems a bit to soon for xmas cards

I work for a printers and buy the card blanks.  I then design the inside and print onto the blank at home on the bubble jet.  Looks good.

I may get a slating for this one but it is us who are providing the service so personally I dont feel obliged to give Mrs Jones who spends £3.00 pm for a front clean only a Christmas Card.  Ba Humbug !!

In fact - if you've provided a good, reliable and friendly service you'll come home with bottles of all sorts, chocolates and the like from your residential customers.

I always leave the bin boys and the milkman some beer but never receive a card from them.  Its the same for us.

I only send to the odd few - mainly the customers that i like, and pay well!!!!

Always send the card before you visit if you can. Then they think "what a nice man" and give you a Christmas tip.

i just alter my "your windows have been cleaned slips"

i just add some Xmas Clipart to the corners and add

"Happy Christmas from your window cleaner"

it doesnt cost anything, and shows your in the spirit of xmas

for my comercail i give the girls in the office a tin of chocs (roses are 2 for 10 quid in tesco's)
and a card to them, afterall they sort my money out every time

I send letters instead of cards. Sticky tape a bit of tinsel to the top and have the following...

Yes, it's here again. Another year gone and hopefully we are all a little wiser, healthier and wealthier than last year.

I was sitting in my office trying to think of something to give you. Do I send a generic card which will be lost in a sea of cards? Or maybe something else? In the end, I decided the best way to express my thanks for using our service was to simply say...

Thank You for using our window cleaning service throughout the year. Your custom is truly appreciated.

Each letter cost me 3 cents for the envelope, 50 cents to mail (that's the cost of basic postage in Australia) and $1 for the scratch off instant lottery ticket and one sheet of paper and a thin slice of tinsel. So less than $1.60.

I sent them out first week of December. Had a lot of positive comments. Good will building.

I don't care whether other services do this kind of thing or not. I do it and stand out in a positive way in my customer's mind.

I absolutely love that idea Michael.  Sometimes we all forget to just say "Thank You".     To keep costs down, just the letter could be used.  I might just try it.
