« on: October 04, 2011, 08:32:06 pm »
As above really,

Are they a decent engine? i would be buying brand new.

The one im looking at has a better pump than my current one. Would be using it for a backup/second machine for my offsider..

Cheers in advance..

Matt

Was first engine I used when I worked for my brother in law at 18. With a 201 pump on. That machine encouraged me to be where I am today.  ;D

But I didn't pay out for the petrol at the time!  ;D

Yes, it also seems true to me as i have not utilized them much but people tells about them that they have the  power, reliability and easy controls on speed, frequency inverter technique and fuel efficient machine too.

I'd say so, they are the next best/cheaper version of Honda mini dirt bike engines. A lot of mini bike enthusiasts use them. Generally jetwashes use the same engines as go karts/mini bikes :)

Cheers guys, I have heard a few good reports from a few guys who have used a loncin. Was thinking about getting one with a 202 for a bit more flow. brandnew with the pump works out about £1200 from that jetmac mob..

Cheers for the feedback.. ;D

How much quicker do the petrol washers go through fuel coompared to the diesels?

We run three lumps ranging from 8-15hp - 2 electric starts larger lumps with reduction gearboxes all work great no probs. ;D

15hp 18l/m - can use £20 fuel full day running at 3/4 - by full day up to 10 hrs
However most jobs can run tick over to 1/2 fuel can be down to <£10 a day.

Found them to be just as good as Honda even Kohler lumps - we have found with washers main probs have occured when we have gone direct drive.

On our Hondas and Yanmars we use about £8 per day on red per engine. (0.80p per liter)

If we had petrol it would be about £15 per engine per day.

Advance

Cheers guys. Appreciate the info.

Id like to go for a diesel, i just havent seen many decent ones about for the right price.

Also, with these smaller machines, can you alter the revs? is it just like an idle screw? Im new to the smaller machines, and i know you can alter the pressure, thats a given, but what about the revs? i always thought these motors ran at one speed and thats it..

Peter, Im not really looking for a bowser mate, but thanks for the offer! sounds like a good price for what it is.

Pressure drops away with the revs for a given nozzle size. Most smaller engines have an arm to control the revs but I can't say I drop them much as I only seem to run smaller m/c's at full chat - I've a Lochin that I use with the power pole for gutter work which is alright. On a full day my 13hp Honda would do nearly 40 ltrs/£50 so this year I bought a 14hp diesel and its nearly paid for itself in fuel savings

£50 a day? Jesus...... How much do they charge in Kent a litre of fuel? ;)

My Honda uses 3/4 5 litre cans at the most in one day!!!
