Hello...

This is a long shot, but just over a year ago I ordered some leaflets from a printer recommended on here and was happy with the product. (and a good price)

Thing is I cant remember who they were !

What I can remember is they had sample leaflets (for carpet cleaners) on their website and I'm sure one of the guys also designed websites. Think they were based around Leeds ?

If anyone on here can come up with some names it may jog my memory !!

Was it DP print in Hull?

I used fairprint.co.uk

They advertise on ebay £55 for 5000 dbl sided A5 - about £45 to design and set up. Good quality flyers.

I have ordered 3lots of flyers from them for three different business types but from our experience the great looking posh and glossy leaflets do not return the same number of enquiries as the the ones I type up on the laptop on flurescent paper with black bold print.

I think the customers look at the leaflets and think posh, must be posh prices !

i agree craig, i do about 10k leaflets every month and have better success with a 'diy' leaflet on pink paper (yes, similar to the altec one!) had 100k odd printed on full gloss without much return....and all my areas are target towards a1, b1 c1 people............will stick to my riso and printing them myself!!

Now Im lumbered with the posh glossy ones, I leave half a dozen of them with each customer, but theres no way, I will walk all day delivering them.

The quality of the leaflets will dictate the quality of the work you get, what you get paid for a job and the amount of money you have to spend on equipment. I use 200gsm full colour glossy and have moved on from the diy that I started with 20 years ago and the proffessionally printed black and white one that I was using 15 years ago.
It is a matter of how customers percieve the quality of you work, 60% of my turnover comes from commercial work and I know for certain that good reputable companies will be unlikely to respond to DIY looking leaflets. You choose where you want to be in the market place but I am happier where I am now than where I was.......

Pink paper has shot up in price plus you have servicing costs with RIso

Ive been buying 10reems at a t ime through ebay - approx £5 to £6each 160 gsm. Still loads loads cheaper than the local staples!
