how to buy work
« on: September 07, 2011, 06:39:21 pm »
hi everyone, i've come across some work for sale and wanted to get an idea of what to look out for and the buying process to cover my back.

basically there is 1600 worth of work and he wants about 4500 for it but i probably wont be able have all of it.
its been established for just over 12 months.
so does that sound ok and what would the best process be for buying to make sure everything goes well on my end  ;D

thanks

and be prepared for him to tell you where to shove your deposit, well I would, sure I could be haggled on price but I would want the money up front

Its a dangerous game to play paying all up front. if he wouldn't take 50% up front then 50% after one clean i would think he is hiding something

depends how good the work is but 3x the monthly isn't a lot

it is also a dangerous game to sell without getting all your money upfront, he could easily start making excuses and not paying.

it is a dodgy business either way

Only thing that would slightly worry me is why is he selling after 12 months?

see a few of the properties to get an idea, call and see as many customers as you can who you pick out, pay him the money on then go around all his customers with him and give them a letter from him saying you have bought the work off of him and a letter from yourself explaining a little about yourself / company, that way you see if its genuine, he gets his money, and the customers know who to expect,
