I used to love the kenny everett show. . . . it was the highlight of my week because it was done in " the best possible taste"

Dave, £79 for an 18 foot complete pole bought as a stopgap when my xtel died. So far outlasted all of my other poles. Used daily and gets lots of abuse. Does bend but find that useful for getting to difficult windows. Seems to have some sort of nylon coating which has been completely resistant to cracking / scuffing and other damage. Is heavy and I'm sure a clx would trounce it, but for the money:durability ratio has been brilliant!

CLX are great and I use one all the time but they do wear out quickly. I have been wondering if a more durable pole might be worth using on many of the easy houses whose windows don't  really require the sophistication of a clx. If these poles last well they may be good for the straightforward stuff and save the clx for the more stretchy jobs.

How long have you had yours vince? I have had mine about 15 months I reckon tonnes of life left in it, Im happy with that if I had to buy a new one tomorrow. this is my main house bashing pole I have a 30 ft slx that is used less frequent but im hoping for 3 years service from this.

Mine's less that a year old but its got loads of loose spots on it now. If I get a year out of it thats good enough for me. but its completely black in places where the outer surface has worn through. I've been thinking for a while its a waste using it on many of the easy houses where really any old pole would do.

So the CLX is lighter, better designed and shorter closed length but wears quickly and the Bayersan is heavy, longer closed but cheaper and pretty much indestructible.
