DaveDave, £79 for an 18 foot complete pole bought as a stopgap when my xtel died. So far outlasted all of my other poles. Used daily and gets lots of abuse. Does bend but find that useful for getting to difficult windows. Seems to have some sort of nylon coating which has been completely resistant to cracking / scuffing and other damage. Is heavy and I'm sure a clx would trounce it, but for the money:durability ratio has been brilliant!
CLX are great and I use one all the time but they do wear out quickly. I have been wondering if a more durable pole might be worth using on many of the easy houses whose windows don't really require the sophistication of a clx. If these poles last well they may be good for the straightforward stuff and save the clx for the more stretchy jobs.
