How much would you give?...
« on: September 03, 2011, 03:09:14 pm »
hi there,
How much would you pay for the real e-commerce business which brings £4500-5000 net profit monthly?
Basically one man can handle this business full time working from home. For how much would you value it and if possible would prepare to pay?
i'm a window cleaner myself(part time now) and sold two of my rounds previously for 4-5 times of the monthly profit. I'm wondering if anyone would pay around £25000 for the e-commerce business with above profits which is really easy comparing to window cleaning??
you thoughts please....

Nothing based on what you have said, you would need to give more details and have open books to look at cashflow and long term viability.

you should look at business for sale websites to get some idea. on the stockmarket businesses are valued at 16 x their annual profit as a rough guide. valuations depend on how strong your business franchise is, in other words how likely the competiton can steel your business from you. coca cola is a very strong franchise a bottle of milk is very weak.
window cleaning has a weak franchise (low barriers to entry no long drawn out training skills....) so therefore cheap to buy relative to turnover.
its how much one person will pay at the end of the day
in answer to your question, you are probably the best person to know its real worth....e.g if you were buying it off your boss ...how much would you be willing to pay?
the art of business is to charge the maximum not a fair price otherwise glastonbury tickets would be £10 each lol

Of the £4500-5000 how much is profit after wages?

Most window cleaners don't make any profit as they live off ALL the net.

What wage would a person expect for the work done?

Sounds like a 'lifestyle' business as Dragons Den would put it.

as i said it is one man band business, just like as you work as a window cleaner by yourself.

the job is easy, work from home, plenty of time for yourself and your family, yes i would describe it as a 'lifestyle business' with an impressive returns. i think earning 4500-5000 net monthly is not too bad, the question is for how much can this business be sold?

It sounds too good to be true to me.  And for that reason, Farkam, I'm out.

what are the other dragons' opinion here?  8)
i'm open for offers  ;)

why is it too good to be true anyway? it is a proven business model with the potential to earn even more if invested wisely.

And therein lies your problem, are you selling a business model which is in itself of little value without customers or are you selling potential which is also worth nothing.

Selling window cleaning work at least comes with customers.

I ask you again, what is your profit after wages and income?

Are you asking because you have a business model to sell and want to suss out what we would all pay, or is this a one off opportunity that you are chasing for yourself?

Because if you really had an e-biz that makes £4K to £5K per month net, for very little work, working from home, then loads of people would be doing it; and then you wouldn't make £4K or £5K.

Simple really.

It's too good to be true.

tosh.... that line of thought reminds me of the ecomonics professor walking with one of his students.
the student says " hey professor theres a £20 in the road"
the professor says " if it was real, someone would have picked it up" :D

That analogy is flawed.  A £20 note on a road is a somewhat rare event.  You won't find hoards of people out walking the streets with the sole purpose of finding a £20 note.

However, you will find that there is a massive demand for working from home type of jobs; massive.  I've looked into it myself.

If someone has found a method of making that amount of money, that easily, you can be guaranteed that others will also find it.

If it was true, and you could make £5K per month profit, easily, working from home - in something that anyone with average intelligence and no special skill can do - then I would sell my house to be able to purchase the business.

But common sense tells me that if something sounds too good to be true, then it generally is too good to be true.

so tosh.... look at this site and how many people view the forums,
advertisers love lots of people, so theres a good income frm advertising on here but ...how long would it take to run/moderate this site?

maybe a site like this for people on how to work from home on their computors would be a success?

maybe its been done.....

Why would you want to sell something that makes £4k+ proffit a month ?

If it was me i would be sitting at home raking in the cash ;D
Only those who risk going too far will truly know how far they can actually go
