at the end of the day its the quality that counts if they are doing the same quality cheaper- hey ho --if not they will soon be run

Lose what big time, your temper?
I have found over the years that you will lose a few and most of the time the customer will tell you anything other than they have had a cheaper quote.
Most have struggled to find a reliable/regular cleaner and will not change to a new unknown guy for the sake of a pound or two. I  have mostly been happy to lose the ones that have changed as they were generally the "can you come back later for the money, or leave them this time" brigade.
When it happens to you, just move on and replace them.

Nine times out of ten you'll only lose the rubbish. Let them go. Someone else will only come along and undercut them. There's plenty of work out there, ones that'll appreciate having a reliable cleaner.

I had someone going round my customers asking what I charge and offering to do them for less, I had customers ringing me up to tell me how annoyed they were with this other chap.
I rang this chap and told him that I thought he was out of order for trying to undercut me like that and he could put leaflets through and any of my customers that wanted to leave me and go with him he was welcome to.
I explained all that would happen is that I would undercut him or someone else would and at the end of the day we would all end up being busy fools.
Never seen or heard anything from him again.

farkam .... there is a difference between undercutting and giving a lower price.

Undercutting is finding out the current price and going in lower

giving a lower price is not finding out the current price but putting in a quote your happy with

The second is not undercutting
Only those who risk going too far will truly know how far they can actually go
