mossgo how to advice please
« on: August 21, 2011, 11:27:03 pm »
Hi all,
Thanks to all for your input to this site its been a great help to a new starter.
my area of the north east is looking promising at the moment to wet my toes in this area, Im not a lover of heights ladder 10ft is my max or its a tower. looking for some advice from users of moss go on roofs,

1, does it do what it says on the tin.

2, How long (is a pice of string) does it actually take mosses ect to loosen and drop into gutters to a point where you have to return with gutter vac or do you ask customer to phone when marked improvement is seen.

3, gutter vac, is it 1-2 visits and do you charge this cost in with application of moss go or as a seperate service and or reduced cost.

4, i take it you charge customer for the leaf guard / flow guard on the down pipes after explaining why they need them. (placement of these will have to be worked on due to height).

5, any helpfully advice on selling the service to customer is more than welcome.
Thank you in advance.

Hi to be honest I do not know of anyone who uses this product ::) in order to seek advice... I can see alot of problems applying this via poles etc from ground level due to spray drift... slight wind and it will blow every where u explain that to neighbors that its perfectly safe ;D ;D

We clean roofs via washing and rope access...
I have however seen a competitors flyer who applies this product they dont vac ..what they recommeded (in really small print) was to disconnect down pipes for 4-5 wks!! Dont know of anyone who would be happy with that - with our bloody weather!!

Not alot of help I know!!

thanks for your reply mike, after a chat with the lads over the bank hol the biggest point was " you want me to pay you £xxx to spray majic water on my roof and let the moss drop off over 4 - 8 weeks " go away... i think its a bit of a diy product rather than trade use.
