And then the rabbi said to the youth"And most importantly don`t forget your glasses when your gluing on them clamps for Alex  or you`ll have Perfect Windows going off on one again" .

Being totally serious it would always be wise to factor in greed into  "the economics of dealmaking" as you describe it.
Greed is everywhere,so common its now described as simply "business". It aint no virtue though.

I dont agree with either of you, your both  talking through your wallets and you`d be the first to winge if something you wanted became suddenly unaffordable due  to gullible buyers pushing the price up.

Blimey mate, why are you in business????

If someone wanted to buy my business and valued it higher than the norm I certainly wouldn't correct them. If I can get x10 for it then great, the more the better.

To be honest I'd rather get x20 ;D
Come and talk dirty to us!!!

Depend whether its a real round or just a list of names and addresses from some time back.

Some years ago I picked up a half a dozen houses in one road where the old cleaner had gone missing. Nothing too unusual about that. Many months later a new guy turned up knocking on doors introducing himself as the new cleaner.

Turns out he had bought the round from the old cleaners son. I gave up the houses to him because I felt sorry for him  but it was a P- take and he had really been conned. It was me who was the loser really but what would have happened if I had stood my ground?

Maybe I was too soft but he was a real mug for parting with the money, and I told him so.

out of intrest how do you value a window cleaning round ? i heard it was 4 times the  value of work you do a month but aint to sure , not selling just want a piece of mind

its what you want for it
and its what people are prepared to pay
so probably you will meet in the middle

or......hope for the best, expect worst and settle for anything in between
