Customer whinging on answerphone then ok person to person
« on: August 07, 2011, 08:19:10 pm »
Cleaned a flat friday, 3rd story in a right rough estate, second clean, they were MINGING last time. Anyway, got there other day and all windows were open, they were out but we did our best as needed to finish the area last week.

Look at phone saturday have a message, "matt youve cleaned our windows and theres marks everywhere, and another thing how on earth did you clean the windows with them all open bud (sarcastic) ill pay you this time but after we dont want you any longer, the wifes not impressed one bit"

Always keep me cool with these, so i rang him and was like i do apologise, windows high up and was awkward to clean be back first thing monday morn...then he was fine?? Oh ok thanks. See you then. You still want me to carry on? Yes please.

But i think, before having the bender just approach me and ask me first before going off on one would be nice. If somethings not right should you not be given the chance to put it right? I think so. I dont know how bad they were, and thinking about it they probably werent the best with the way they were cleaned so ill redo no problem.

Rant over, sighs  ;D

we don't do any of this type of work.

scummy estates normally house scummy people.

just my view.

I'm not saying there aren't any decent folk living in run down estates but there is always a high percentage of low lifes in run down areas.

I wouldn't waste my time.

ive found the worst are the snobs with a  pond full of Koi , in fact im steadily dropping those  types ,they often have a silver Merc  and im replacing them with the estate type who have a 51 plate Seat Ibiza or  even dont have a car as they are loyal and dont sneer  AND PAY PROPERLY TOO

I agree with Alan. I normally stay off the poorer areas unless they contact me etc as I have had similar experiences. There are some decent people about but the % of decent people is lower. Imo

I think we all do it sometimes, well I do.
Go off on one at the time and then calm down a bit.

I used to dump customers who moaned just once then I realised it was costing me money. I ditched a customer who was in the middle of a row of three for example.  ::)  Doh! I thought afterwards
So now I go away and come back later, if they are too bad I ditch em, but usually I just up the price.

I think sometimes when I read posts from some people that they dump too easily and are a bit too sensitive.
I'm not suggesting you should just take everything on the chin, but maybe develop a thicker skin and just laugh it off sometimes, I do a bungalow, the old lady who lives in it is 'a bit funny' so no one would clean her, but I do she nice as pie and I charge £14 for 15 minutes work..

As for wealthy customers, often they are wealthy because they are as tight as a duck's a@se, and that's watertight!
A manager is generally someone who has been promoted to the position by someone else who didn't see them as a threat.
Hence all people are promoted to the level of their incompetence
