It's been running stupidly slow for me the last few days.  Keep getting time-outs loading pages.

Server upgrade required!

Either that or delete all the pointless cr*p posted on here, which would free up 90% of the disk space!!

Just what I was thinking, getting timed out all the time and really slow to load and I've got 20meg broadband.

Hundreds of pages from The For Sale section and General Chat section could be deleted at a stroke with no loss to the site whatsoever.

I could delete my account, every little helps.

getting it too.

they said it was getting more popular here so that was taking up the server power (it has nothing to do with your speed but the speed their machines can give you the info) and then they upgrade the machines, however this place seems so dead lately i can't see the upgrades they've made recently already being underpowered.

Perhaps the reason this site is becoming quiet is because of the problems with it.
Someone sort it, this is my 3rd attempt tonight to post anything, and this is it.

I never have any problem on the site, well apart from a bit of bull s##ting  ;D  my download speed is always above 30 mbs with bt infinity, its like most things in life, you do only get what you pay for, and most things are tax deductable, this includes your isp  :P

again it has nothing to do with your speed. when you order a product online it gets delivered to you dependent on the speed of the courier not the car sat in your drive.

My courier is bt infinity that always runs at more than 30 mbs, the car sat on my drive, as you compare is my trusty notebook that has 4 gb of ram, the problem isnt going to be with either of these, it will be the distribution point (or website) thats at fault. But as I say I never have any problems with ciu.

"the problem isnt going to be with either of these, it will be the distribution point (or website) thats at fault."

exactly, so letting us all know your speed test results (and even with a picture to prove how great it is) is completely unrelated and pointless, just as letting us know the ram in your notebook.

Thank you for letting us know any way, you seem very proud that you give someone else your money (and i assume do nothing else? like you didn't make it or anything) to have good technology.

Heres a new one for you  ;D

Why is it unrelated and pointless  ??? I dont have any problems on this site, and I am letting others know my courier is good and so is the car on my drive  :)

well no point continuing this as it's pointless now the point has been made.

i don't know what to say to your speedtest, try moving over the virgin then if you are concerned with your low speed. also if you had some thought you'd think perhaps bt will give greater speed when they see you're doing as speedtest through that site. everyone uses it so the simplest thing for a company trying to show better speeds would be to give it the greatest results possible and make everyone think that'll be the case with any site.

Thanks.... Fibre optic broadband is the way forward. I dont like parting with money, but as far as I am aware its not free in any region yet.

Anyway they seem to have sorted it now, the forum appears to be running quite fast again (even on my pathetic piddly 10MB Virgin connection :D)
