I know there are some guy who besides cleaning window also do offices. What I need to know is the hourly rate they charge per operative to the customer.

Round here rates vary, as we are easily accessible for out of town contract cleaners.
Rates vary from £8.00 per hour (yes £8.00 ) but these are from bigger outfits, who employ at minimum wage. Recently I went in at £12.00 per hour for a job and didn't get it against a £10 per hour business. We would pay £7 to £7.50 per hour to get decent reliable staff, so you can see, not much profit to be made.
It all depends on what the customer wants, if they want just bins emptied and hoovering then you are not going to get a high rate. If they want kitchen areas, bathroom areas etc etc doing then you may get in at around £10 to £12.
We work closely wuth a contract cleaning company and in 2005 he was charging £12 p/hr. As soon as he goes to increase rates he is asked to tender in full again and  loses contracts, as the service can be sourced from out of town business at lower rates.

We contract clean as well as window clean ( and carpet clean ) and the hourly rate is nowhere near window cleaning. The only good thing is that it's not weather dependant and it's regular money - no " not this times "

and that is about the only good thing about it! I'm pretty sure that people do not live at home the way they live (!!) in their offices......yuk

No.
On contract general cleaning the pricing is calculated per hour, so if you take on a weekly (5 day contract) at 3 hours per day, this would be 15 hours per week at, for example £12 per hour which would give the grand sum of £180.00 per week into your business. You then pay staff from that income, so if you had 2 people working it together  you would pay them 7.5 hours each at your chosen rate. As i said before not much profit to be made per each job, but if you have many contracts on your books and you can handle the stress of staffing them then you can make a good business out of it
