Rip it to bits
« on: August 04, 2011, 09:39:49 pm »
I've been going since October last year and business is going well. I have a steady-ish stream of people asking for quotes through the website but not enough judging by the hits. I have barely changed the website since I first made it almost a year ago and have quite a few ideas for some new stuff for it. Before I do it all I want some brutal honesty on what you lot think of it please. I'm not gonna take offense, just want lots of constructive criticism.

The website address is: www.isleofthanetwc.co.uk

Cheers in advance.

The first thing that hit me was a load of fields to fill in, b4 noticing your phone no:s to the upper right. Maybe not have this has your home page but in a conntact us page? Ive never tried to get work in this way but if i did i would have a main biz name on the opening page with the usual options on the left ??? Just trying 2 help mate.

Remove the quick quote from the home page, far to complex. Put one of them instant estimators on the advanced quote page instead and rename it price estimate or some such thing.

Get rid of the quote form on the home page,.. add a fe photos throughout the site of yourself at work. Include shots where the potential custie can see you face, and if your van is signwritten, a couple of pics of that too. Encourage the "familiarity factor" where a custie discovers your website & thinks, "I've seen that van working on the next street",.. that way you will ALWAYS be called before the company thats a complete unknown.  ;)

keep the quote form they work well  ;) maybe make it smaller though

get rid of the advanced contact page as its not needed.

If that is a free site its probably the nicest one i've seen. most look garish and budget!

looks simple, clean and fresh as it should be

I didn't know the North Sea was in Pegwell Bay.

What do the hovercraft make if that?

the clown on the cradle puts me off

I liked the clown on the cradle - reminds me of Steven Tompkinson in Brassed Off! ;D
It's a game of three halves!
