i need one to clean about 3500 windows on a huge commercial job. i need about 70 feet reach

In the good old days of heavy uni glass fibre poles at 65' 2004 time, when we first
Started wfp, it was great when we purchased the unger carbon tech modular we used that upto 65' my staff were happier, these days of light light light poles being used even that would feel extremely heavy to most new wfp guys.

Reach-iT do a 70ft pole. New to the market, but pukka. I'm using a Pro at the moment, lovely pole. 4 storey telescopic, then 10ft sections can be bought an added. Google Reach-iT Pro and see vids too. I love mine!

thanks for advise, im guessing im looking at about a £3k purchase when i was only planning on charging them £4k for 2 vans working over about 10 days. (thats what the facilities manager has told me it took the last well known national company to do it) its going to be a nightmare job with a lot of moving about too, and climbing on to flat roofs to access these 70 ft windows. im in two minds whether to pass it over. or add the cost of the pole on to bill and just go for it if they accept. what would you do?

3k   (think about fishing poles)  About 70ft aint accurate enough use a ball of string or measure exactly, as theres a vast difference between 65ft and 71ft in use.
If its going to take you personally a month to clean then your not charging enough.
Use a modular for the 70fters and just buy enough extension sections to reach that height for one person to use, the rest of the building can be done with say 50fters or the 70fters used lower(still use modulars). Allow for cleaning the 70fters on a perfectly still day when the site is closed. Dont pass it-have a go then pass it on if its not proffitable. Dont forget when you have the 70fters you will open up a new market that the others wont be able to reach in your area.Think about hiring in someone with a 70fter to do the hard parts. While you save for the 70fters.
DO NOT order any poles until you have the contract for job, - signed!! You can always start the job with the equipement you have while your waiting for the modulars to arrive- if they are available.
Just one question, why did the other company lose the job ?

70 feet is a pretty unpleasant height to work at. I work at 50' regularly and can just about move from one window to the next with an S2. If the breeze picks up and I mean just a breeze then 70' in a slight crosswind will be a nightmare. It's possible you'll have to break the pole down a few sections to reach the next window. The price needs to be very good in my opinion to take it on.

not sure why they lost the job? im thinking now about £9k for the job. and sharing it with a friend and charging for the pole

Sharing sounds good - 2 heads better than one but stay in control. Just charge what you think is a fair price to get a repeat. The company will suss you out before you do.
