4 or 8 weelky or 4 and 6 weekly?
« on: August 04, 2011, 07:56:30 am »
Does anyone think once every 8 weeks is to long? I was thinking 4 and 6 weekly might be better, does anyone do it another way as in every 4 weeks only, and if they don't want it every 4 weeks then drop them, it would be so much better and more simple that way, or one clean every 5 weeks. What have you found to be best?? Regards.

Initially if your building up your round offer them a couple of options. Most will pick one or the other. If they really want a different frequency then just go for it, its all money. You can always change it later on or drop the customer.

Having said that if they want a longer time gap, say a clean once every 3 months I just price it up accordingly, ie a bit more.

Cheers,

Caleb

A 6 weekly service only? Yeah sounds good I was thinking every 5 weeks, most seem to do 4 and 8 weekly, but I deffo feel every 8 weeks is not enough.

Most of mine were on 8 weekly, this is too long and an error on my part. Its like starting over again.
I've managed to reschedule them all on 7 and in a while will come down to 6.
Alll new customers going on 6
The difference is amazing in time saved.

Maybe a 4 and a 6 as I have some who like it every 4 weeks. Unless I talk them into having it every 6 weeks.

hi dean,

I've asked this before,

I basically say monthly (every 4 weeks and your in danger of showing up twice in the same month :o)

I tell custy monthly but i can be upto 6 weeks with bank hols, holidays, and lost time to heavy rain, but i do work all year and in light rain/drizzle.

i have my george program set to 5 weeks sometimes i'm ahead of schedule but never do custy earlier than monthly i.e done on 4th august not again til earliest 4th sept.

6 weeks feels right to me but i don't want to set things in concrete as i would need more work and there will always be someone saying your late, your early.

As said when you first start you have to grin and bare it.

when you've got a good size round inform all custy's it's monthly or six weeks.

I have a handful of jobs at 8 weeks they are on their own and are £25 upwards.

In my experience the custy will try it on and suggest 8 weeks especially say it's a £20 allround detached,

I say sorry monthly, if they still dig their heels in then i say i can just do front/side £10 and back when they want.

If asked why i just say i can only run one frequency as things get compliated and petrol is too expensive and i have keep driving to minimum

When you do 4 weeks it feels like you are never away from the place. Even you start to think its not right.

4 weekly is the norm for us; very few on 8 weekly.

As for those saying 4 weekly is too often; you're mad. If I could get my customers to all go to weekly cleans I would as I'd be earning a lot more ;)

Thats a bit of a sweeping statement!

All of my customers (apart from the odd few 12 weeklys) are every 8 weeks, they have been since I started from scratch... It may take a little longer to build up a round, but you can charge more per clean so in the long run your quids in!

i offer 4 or 8 weekly but if i was starting over i would offer 6 weekly only or if they insisted 12 weekly price would be 50 percent extra!

i am considering notifying all my customers and telling them the frequency will be all 6 weekly, i hate driving to an area and missing out a few jobs then the next time i go missing out a few others, i think its more profitable to have every single job on the same frequency, saving time and diesel, i wish from day 1 i offered 6 weekly only

I would say exactly the opposite is true. The 8 or 12 weeklys are less likely to dump you as a luxury they can do without when the money gets tight

8 weekly is the norm for me and it's a nice balance between clean and really dirty..When I arrive I can see they need cleaning which is what the customer must see also...so at least they can see a difference..On a different note this window cleaning lark bores me to tears and going every 4 weeks would tip me over the edge.

Cheers

6 weeks is normal cleaning schedule here unless they want 4 wks.
