im thinking of getting an aquarium heater and bunging it in my tank for an hour on cold mornings so my hose is more managable.anybody use one?could i say leave it in for an hour and my water will be warm enough to keep the hoses from freezing on the ground?dont fancy spending a load of money on a hot system when cold is sufficient most of the year.just wanna take the edge off the cold water on frosty mornings.many thanks dazmond
fit an immersion heater in bottom side of tank worked a treat for me last winter cost 75p for 6 hours running at night.

Costs about £40/50 for the stuff & a doddle to fit. Takes 4 hours for a full tank of very warm to hot water & best of all the tank acts as a huge radiator & nothing in the van freezes. Surprisingly, the water stays warm all day!I'll set £100 to the side & this will cover the extra electric consumed all winter.

Im thinking i will do this in my 500 upright for winter, how would i go about it in an upright tank, plus its baffled, so would it be more awkward than a flat? Or does it not matter?
Whats happened to those guys running around fitting immersion heater elements to their IBCs last winter?
