i always think a good rule of thumb is if you get 5 out of 10 quotes your pricing is dead

on any less your too expensive

and any more you too cheap 

I think that is a myth. I get just about every house I quote. When working I earn a very good hourly rate - as good as any I've heard on here. It's about the customer feeling comfortable with the wc.

What's your rate per hour then?

I would be uncomfortable stating it on here, but more than the £30 an hour that seems the benchmark. It will be higher still once I organise my round more effectively. I am only a year in and I can visit the same street/road three times in an 8 week cycle.

I came into this with a good few years business experience and so am without the cheap work that many would have had. In fact, some of my early jobs are embarrassingly expensive as I priced them on the basis of a novice cleaning them. One in particular I charge £35 and takes 20 minutes now. I hate it if they are in as I have to make it last 40 minutes or so. Incidentally, in the early days I was only getting 50% takeup.

charge as much as possible, you need to test this by getting soo high you get rejected

in my opinion the only way to find the max someone will pay is to get turned away a few times

im saying 10 is about right for tiptree , i have been going 3yrs and mostly work on greenstead estate  in colch,  prices are a tad lower on the rough estates  . i also work in ipswich and felixstowe with 2 lads

hang onto your car as long as u can mate- customers love a car more  as you look cheaper and i raked in far more work when i used a car .

someone from london told me the other day the average price for a 3 bed semi in london is £35!!!  

he wasnt joking either and he was up here having another van fitted out wfp 650 ltr tank, the lot!

That seems extreme. I would have thought there would belots of competition there. But isn't an average 3 bed now near £400,000.

yeah i thought it seemed a bit much but, if youve got the balls and confidence to ask for a good price and you look and sound the part why not?

Line up your last 15 days worked on here,with leaving home times and returning home times,miles covered,pure water production times etc and then start talking average hourly rates. Its all sounding a bit too rosy to me.Super customers paying over the odds,lots of them ,probably all compact. Well if you have got this so easy then you should have infinite rounds paying  workers £15/hr to do it for you(super happy employees) and just sit back counting the money.Have you had a return on canvassing costs that you may have paid for?With the figures getting bandied on here there must be tax returns showing 40K net profit,working alone.
