I may not know as much about carpet cleaning as you my experience is with marketing and sales.
The key ring idea is all about leaving your logo (brand) in as many homes as you can. After all what thought or item do you leave?
How many of you have a bunch of keys or key with out a ring? How many times have you found a key ring or been given one and found a use for it? How many of you are given a key ring and put it in a draw or passed it on? And how many of you have been given ring and you bin it (not many)?
the fact is brand recognition, the more you make your brand recognisable and available either on vans, adds, leaflets, web sites, and yes key rings, etc, the more chances you will have of generating that sales call above your competitors.
if you don't think it will work ok not a problem but in my experience you are missing a trick, it may not be a key ring, but you need to leave something with the customers physical which the customer can keep and it may be 3 months, 6 months or even a year later the client can think "who did the last fantastic cleaning job, Who? I know it’s on the key ring in the draw"!
You can have stylish leather fob rings with your logo on a steel enamel tag for as little as £1 small price to pay for marketing!
