Early morning start
« on: July 28, 2011, 07:28:37 am »
Is it just me or has everybody got worries about starting to clean too early, especially during school holidays? Any tips on approaching customers. I've got a new customer who says her last window cleaner arrived 7.30am on a sunday in winter wearing a head torch - shining through the bedroom window! Really?

Earliest commercial is 7.30am  -  Residential is after 9 as i drop my little monsters off at school
Only those who risk going too far will truly know how far they can actually go

Residential start from 8.30 onwards.  Earlier if by arrangement.
Non residential - any time.  I've been known to start at first light in mid summer.

I start domestics at 8.am never had a complaint, you will be suprised as most people are up. Knock the door just to let them know you are around. Even better when you use WFP non obtrusive!

Residential - 9 usually, but...  Tell your customers in advance that you start at 8.  You'd be surprised how many say fine.
Commercial - As early as possible, some we start at 6.30.
All I seem to do is work lately

Haven't been on here having a pop at Tosh for ages.  Has he gone to live with Daily Llama yet? ;)

Over time you will find out who is up early and who isn't. The older ones are usually up early so just ask a few when it's convenient to start cleaning. If they say 7.30am then always start with them. If you have 3 days work in an area then look for a second and third early rise customer.

One of the local lads quotes cheaply for commercial work he can do early and that gives him a start in the mornings while I'm still in bed.
