Im not confident enough to install a Split relay in van so i charge at home
Im using a "maypole 6 amp charger" with a float charge and fast charge setting
I just use float
Is this right? as im having probs with battery power with my new varistream

do you have a leisure battery, as they are recomended to have a long so charge.
but you can fast charge them if you need to

Fast charging a leisure battery is only really recommended to be done occassionally.
I usually charge mine on a normal charge overnight for about 12 hours.

Might be worth getting your battery tested then.
At least then you can find out if its the battery or varistream thats giving you a problem.

There is a controller with a built in relay for the split charging between a leisure and vehicle battery. the leisure battery will charge when the engine is running charging via the alternator.
