Buy cheap, buy twice! In fact I'd buy quite a few, just in case ;D

If you were having  all your house carpets cleaned and you had 2 quotes of £120 and £30 who would you choose?

Honestly ... i wouldn't be so quick to discount 'mine'  the cheap one as being fake . This is an internet bulk buy supplier so they sell at low price.  There cant be that many buildhouses for motors around the world , lots of versions come from ametek , yours is a 1500 , different model , and reflected in the price .  'Mine' looks very similar , it has an ametek stamp and a sticker with two long series codes , im sure someone in the biz could confirm fake of not . I simply dont know myself. Im sure they all come from china anyway  :P

Lets hope Ametec don't frequent these pages, suggesting their motors come from China could be seen as libellous. And you know how much Americans love to sue people, allegedly ;D

Hi,

In a series machine the front vac takes a beating and i prefer to change it every 6 months. Why fit a 1200w expensive unit when you can put in a 1400w cheap one. Its a no brainer imo esp if your cleaning 25 carpets a day like we did today and the 7th foamed without the usual signs..so guess what the front vac took god knows how much down it.

The orig lamb i have in the second slot is 6 years old with regular brush changes, but i bet an orig in the front slot would last 6 months. £170 or thereabouts vs £60. Its not about being cheap, its about being sensible. I run my company to make money and since i didn't win the euromillions (yet) i will stick to the cheap ones and defend it with vigor.
