Lost out to a Grouponed
« on: July 08, 2011, 05:16:50 pm »
Well it had to happen at some point but I thought less than a week was a bit quick ;D
Just been to quote a sofa and mattress for an EOT. No problem got those booked in but thought I'd throw in "What about the carpets as it's EOT".
She came back with got that sorted with Groupon. She also told me who the company is.
Yip £22 for living room and bedroom carpet in 1st floor flat. I did tell her to be prepared for add ons although how you can sell add ons with an EOT is beyond me anyway.
So they're going to travel 8 miles for £11 and then 8 miles back.

Come on Easter Bunny, you don't have to be Sherlock Homes to Google the company, find out where they are based, and make an educated guess at the mileage from their place to the EOT job.... ;D

I'm admittedly no Steven Hawkin or anything, but I do know my way around a Rolls-Royce Gnome 1400 single spool turboshaft engine on a Seaking helicopter!

You'd be surprised at what some Carpet Cleaners did in our past professions. I know one who frequents this forum who was a pilot instructor..... ;)

i'll reword mark's post in case anyone can't figure it out. they might have 5 other normal paying jobs in the same area though :) so they could be trying groupon and seeing the effects and booking one a day in the area they are already in and already set up. you don't have to do one job then go home then go to next job, and you don't have to do only groupon jobs each day.
