I'm very local today, and why is that every time you go home as it's been raining half an hour you're in for 5 mins and it stops again? >:(

I'd rather it was wet full stop sometimes, at least I could plan something else for the day.

What's it doing Newport-way Lizzie?
It's coming from your direction.

It's alright, I caught it before you deleted it!

Not supposed to be wet your side of the country.

Pretty much the same here.  Rain, then not, rain then not.   Anyways, I've been out spending today & am off for a lovely haircut this afternoon.
See ya later

Roger,

You're too soft.  Even Wor Lass worked in the rain today.  She didn't smile much though.  The only concession to a customer was knocking two quid of the price because we didn't do the leaded lights on her conservatory because it was hammering down and because it was a bungalow, I didn't use the WFP.

No-one batted an eye-lid and we got through our work really fast because no-one wanted to chat - funnily enough - because it was raining.

Remember, skin is waterproof and once you're wet, you're wet.  You can't get wetter.

The sun is shining now!

Don't particularly want to get soaked Tosh, but the main thing is that my customers won't have it done - I've tried it before.

Not bothered anyway, where's the harm in a few bad days?

Already covered my bills, why sweat? ::)

Roger, don't give them the option.  We won't clean if it's hammering down; but a light rain is no problem.  I think the weather forecast is rain for tomorrow and Friday (Saturday too).

Just do it and smile.  They should be grateful to have a window cleaner who turns up regular.

I understand how you feel though.  This morning I really didn't want to do this particular batch of bungalows, as they're all senior citizens, and I knew they'd be in and I assumed they'd be funny and try giving me a hard time for cleaning their windows in the rain.

But I know I can clean a window in the rain, so I thought sod it.  What's the worst that can happen?  They ask me not to return.

They didn't bat an eye-lid.

Any of my customers who're funny about it; I drop them.  But that's only happened once this year, with a small account in Alpha Road that was a pain to gain access to anyway.

I think the equation works like this:

Lost income due to rain > (is greater than) possibility of lost customers:  therefore cleaning in the rain = good business sense.

Just do it and any customer who complains; replace them with a decent customer.  In the end you'll end up with a quality round and a cash flow you can rely on.
