Hi Gaza

Wet the glass and use a scraper with a new blade.

When it looses it's edge or get clogged - change it.

We have done quite a number of builders cleans and despite trying this and that, a scraper and a new blade works the best.

Cheers

If its a lot of stickers on say a builders clean , go round and wet them all up good first , then when you get to them they come off in one swipe .

Hi Gaz again

P @ F is right.

Forget white spirit because by the time you've disolved it off, it can be scraped off quicker.

Cheers

Ross is right,

A good razor type scraper, but not the really big ones, ideal size one is the 4 inch Unger knife, in folds back on itself and can be clamped into a squeegee handle, it's the best knife out there.
The stanley scrapers (with a standard stanley blade in) are ok, but can scratch the glass.
The little hand held stanley one with the retractable-replacable blade is great to have in your pocket for the odd bit of scraping, but not big enough for major work.

Just having the glass wet and using a 'good' scraper is by far the best way of removing the adhesive too.

I use Oilflo ,it disolves silicone and sticker residue on contact.
I did a new clean yesterday and forgot my oilflo and had to use  a scraper and the sticky bit took ages to get off. The sticky just kept spreading. It would of been quicker to gho back home and get it .

Once you have tried it you will be amazed.

David, what is this oilflo exactly?
Does it take much to wash off the glass once you have dissolved the residue?

And it actually dissolves the dreaded silicone too??

Do most of the normal suppliers stock it?

Sounds like something I want in the back of the van ;)

here is a link to it ,yes it is that good ,once it dissolves it is just squeegied of as normal . what i do i just wet a couple of fingers width of my scrim you only need a minute amount and with no more than 3-4 seconds rubbing it is off .If the silicone is quite thick it will need a little scrape to fatten it a bit.
Then wash window as normal and thats it.
It is a bit potent insides so the smell can linger a while
