It is making a noise, just not pumping. It stopped half way through a job so don't know if an airlock. If it is an airlock what's the best way to shift it? Cheers.

Make sure the pump is as low down as possible in relation to the tank (so it doesn't have to 'lift' the water) - take the pump outlet pipe off the hosereel and put it down on the road, switch on the pump and wait.  Sooner or later it will start pumping water onto the road........if there's water in the tank, of course ::)

If that doesn't work try sucking through the pump outlet pipe while the pump is running.

Update; This morning I undid the pump took it out and tried it directly connected to the battery and it worked.

I have put it back in and now running ok.

I think there may have been a bit of dirt or airlock in the pump and the varistream didin't like it.

If problem persists I may ditch the varistream and just use a switch as some do on here.

I will also be ordering a spare pump for any future problems.

Do you have a filter before the pump?

Yes there is a filter before the pump, which had a bit of dirt that I removed, but not much.
