« on: June 22, 2011, 10:06:41 pm »
my shurflo pump has stopped working, the light is on, on the controller but no noise, so im presuming its the pump, but cant find  the right replacement online,

its serial no - 8002-793-238 - 100psi - 6.4 lpm, 7amps

all i can find is 5lpm (litres per min) will that be ok for 2 man set up?

you don't need to replace it.

open the pump motor body up (6 screws at top) and slide the motor out.  You'll see that one of the magnets has come loose and needs re-glued to the motor body.  When pushing the motor back in you need to hold the brushes back - fishing line works best, hold both ends between your fingers looped over the motor brush, and once you have it in place you just slide the line out.

you're welcome.

the other thing to check if the magnets are in place is the bearing between the motor shaft and the cam, just check its not seized but I'mm 99% confident its the magnet.

Don't presume it is the pump before by-passing the controller and putting electrical feed directly to the pump.
It's a game of three halves!

Ive had it apart and cant see anything wrong with it, theres a seperate section on top of the pump that has a spring in it, but  that seems fine, ive looked in the controller and the fuse is ok, but there is a brown deposit near where one of the wires is screwed in where it looks like it could have blown?

might be best i get a caravan guy to look at it, as they fit these to caravans

Oh, for goodness sakes. Why lose a day's work to save £80? Buy a new pump and get out there working. Why lose time b****ring about with an old pump?

If you can fix the old one, keep it as a spare.

If you can earn in a day the cost of a new van or more, then that makes perfect sense.

Otherwise it's a rather silly comment.
