evening people,
                          Ive been asked to price up some gutter cleaning for a school i know how to price houses but im not sure how to schools/commercial e.t.c

a price per meter i would think but not sure what, i dont want to go in to high and not get it and dont want to go to low because if at the right price it will be regular work and i dont want to be poor and eating beans on toast all the time 

any advise would be great

 One of the best things to do first of all is to get yourself a measuring wheel Screwfix and Toolstation do them for about £30 and measure the meterage of the job. When we do large commercial jobs we take an average price per metre to allow for the fact that some parts will have very little in them while other parts may be really full. We also look at what types of buildings there are, are they 1,2 or 3 storey (or taller) buildings and factor that into the price. For instance one private school we did 3600 metres for £5800 therefore £1.61 per metre, we did that in 12 days the buildings ranged from single storey to 30ft high. Don't forget for a schools you'll need a risk assessment and method statement, we've got them if you want (you might need to slightly adapt them for you job) just let us know and we'll e-mail them to you.
