PRICE FOR SCHOOL PLEASE?
« on: June 21, 2011, 07:12:01 pm »
Evening boys and girls. just had a look at a school it has about 550 windows and they have not been cleaned for 5 years :o
as you would expect pretty minging but all upvc and no windows above 18ft...what do you think? slap a dirty tax on or what?
feel free to throw some prices to me I would value your opinions on this.
I know its difficult for you to give me a price without pics but as I said apart from the filth, its a straight forward clean.
thanks, Dan.

Its your call, how much do you want the job

Do you have to clean frames? Can you explain and get an addition on price for first clean , or put in a good price and swallow the extra graft on clean 1 in order to win the job

School work is generally very cut throat both with competition and with budget

Talk to them and see how understanding they are to get a feel for what you can get away with for the 1st clean

I have just lost a school as it was underpriced and done to infrequently to make any money also only wanted doing in holidays so when i am busy i struggled to clean it, wasnt sorry to see the back of it , so dont underprice you will regret it

Well im viewing it as a 1 off as they havent had it done for 5 years, probably annually 6 monthly at best! but will prob offer to do it at 50% of whatever I charge if they have it done 6 monthly for 2 years...might work.

What size are the windows?

Estimate how many days its going to take and then charge your day rate + a bit just in case...

Amount of windows is normal the price to clean @ £550.00 and all school term holiday cleans a discount 10%.

But you could charge a day rate of example £125.00 per day or £15.62 per hour of an 8 hour day.

Its up to you of how much you want the work.  ;D ;D

Put it this way I had a school which I got paid £1440.00 per clean had this school for 9 years until the head caretaker retired and a new guy took over and got rid of the electricians, plumbers and everyone to do with maintenance to bring in his mates.  >:( >:(

dont go in too high is my opinion iv made the mistake recently, i think if you are working on your own maybe 250 a day if its two of you n takes a day dont be greedy go in at £350 and you may get the work on a more regular basis, iv lost a few schools which i picked up n went in high at
