I use microbore (6mm) as it's nice and light - an important factor if you trailing 100m of the stuff around after you! I also think it places less strain on your pump as there's less water to push through the hose.
I have a 50m reel of 6mm and a 100m reel of 8mm... 6mm is best for everyday use, its light and more manageable etc... however 8mm was best in the winter as the water didnt freeze in the hose like it did with the 6mm.Andy
DId 8mm really make that much of difference in winter I use 6mm but after reading that may get 8mm for the winter months
Ive used 8 and just dont like it, its fatter to use, heavier and more akward to wrap on reel, especially if youve got 100m of it. Youd sturggle to get 100 x 8mm on a normal reel, whereas 6mm goes on really nice.
6mm for me to,How people can say it will put extra pressure on the pump, i dont know,As the water comes out of 2mm jets
