Was that a yes or no to the undercutting question. I fell asleep half way through all of that nonsence.

Btw,i am the best window cleaner in the world and if anyone says any different then all of the above by the Willis boys will apply to whoever disagrees. I'm sure my legal department won't spit their tea out when i tell them i want to take a one man band window cleaner to court for having an opinion that differs to mine.

Michael & David Willis,..

In my opinion, that response really was overkill,.. may I suggest you hire a PR guy who can handle any future incidents like this in a way that will not alienate those who may have been considering taking Impact training courses in the future. Threatening legal action is unnecessary, you could have set the record straight without it.

In my opinion, asking the householder what they are currently paying for window cleaning is unethical,.. but that's just my opinion & you can't sue me for an opinion!  :P

funny that this post has all gone queit ;D

  What more can we say?

Hiding behind legal threats and business management jargon, without actually answering the question, I will wait and see what I find out from my customers, and IF they report they have offered to do the work cheaper, ie undercut my price, I will have no qualms about saying so.

I believe they have stirred up an hornets nest in Spalding and will probably find the going hard from other cleaners.

You're rubbish and I'm formally stating it as fact on this thread.  No, more than that, you're rubbish and you're ugly.

I await your writ.  You know where to send it.

We welcome fair and valid comments

You have a very strange way of showing it.  Going in legally heavy handed in the manner you have chosen to appears to me to be an attempt to stifle any debate by scaring people from making any comments lest they fall foul of your lawyers.

By the way, if that very suggestion is taken by you to be libellious then, just to be clear, I'll be using the defence of "fair comment".

Well I'm glad the record has been set straight but threats to sue do seem OTT.  Reminded me of Ionics for a moment there.
As I said before, no customer details were taken at the courses anyway so it wouldn't have been possible to target them anyway.  I suspect that whoever suggested it to start with may have been making mischief in the same way that some posts a while back attempted to guess how much was being earned from the NVQ and other courses.
There may well have been window cleaners on the courses who had their customers canvassed.  It's bound to happen.  However, I don't see that as anything other than a random event.  In the same way, if I were to go canvassing, I'm bound to knock at doors of other cleaners' customers - and some of them will be customers of cleaners who I know and like.  It's not as if each house has "Bob's customer" or "Fred's customer" painted on the door lintels.
Impact 43 only knew where one of my customers lived.  They had to know that in order to take a look at how I work.  I've no problem with that.
As for undercutting.  Some will do it.  Some won't.  I've never needed to do it to get work.  If someone chooses to go down that route, IMO they would be making a rod for their own back as they are unlikely to end up with good quality customers.
I've no problem with Impact 43 but I do wish that they hadn't made those threats.  IMO it was totally unnecessary.

I think Michael has covered the facts regarding the involvement that Andrew and I have within Clean Safe Window Cleaning.

Our company IMPACT43 provide the City and Guilds QCF with integrity and in the strictest of confidence with all companies and candidates attending.
We have strict codes of practice and policies to follow which in particular involve data protection, for this reason we have a contract with a company called Shred It, all confidential information is shredded by them.

We do not and would certainly not use any information received by a learner for the benefit of our or any other organisation.

We are independently audited by South Thames College and Andrew has over 35 years in the industry believe me he would not do anything to damage the IMPACT43 reputation.

RE posts concerning IMPACT43

In the avoidance of doubt

We will take legal action from today on any forum users that leave posts that have content which is untrue, libellous, slander

We will include the forum owners as far as they disclose the identity of undisclosed forum users pending court action.

Please note
Defamation—also called calumny, vilification, traducement, slander (for transitory statements), and libel (for written, broadcast, or otherwise published words)—is the communication of a statement that makes a claim, expressly stated or implied to be factual, that may give an individual, business, product, group, government, or nation a negative image. It is usually a requirement that this claim be false and that the publication is communicated to someone other than the person defamed (the claimant).[1]Please ensure your comments are true and valid .

Any further question or comments can be made to David Willis of Impact43, please call me on 01205 364333 or 07984365917.

How pathetic (in my humble opinion m'lord), cut and pasted from Wikipedia - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Defamation

Should have hired a real solicitor.

No friends in business they say. Quite believe that now. Seems they intend to bully their way to expand. Red rag to a bull coming out with threatening statements like that. Funny old world, use the forum to promote business then threaten any forum members who step out of line. What a load of rollocks.
