Water bill in post this morning
« on: June 18, 2011, 06:51:18 pm »
:o they had been estimating it for a while and done a proper reading last week.

They send me a letter explaining how to check for leaks due to abnormal water usage at my address. ::)

£210 ouch  ;D

Anyone for rainwater harvesting ?

Think I will bury a 5000 litre tank connected to my downpipes and stick a transfer pump in tank and pump it thru a big di vessel into some ibc's.

Yeah the water bill is a necessary evil.
Im on a meter, its just a shame that I have to pay for putting it down the drain aswell.

£210 when u think about it its about £17.50 per week if it was 3 months now your filters resin and everything cant be more then say £2 per week so round it up to about £20 per week

i am paying much more then that i am buying water so you are doing much better then me! :)

Also i need to take time of my day sometimes cos im running out of water or the people i get it from sometimes cant give it to me and other problems , cant wait to have my own bloody water place ;////// get the hell out of this flat

If you have a garden you could direct the water around it, then you can prove you don't put it down the sewer and claim a rebate - in effect the water company then pay you to water your garden ;D
