When I started 14 years ago I was around 10 stone and had been this or less since my teenage years, even though I eat like a horse.

I'm now beginning to fill out. When I was last weighed (in January) I was 75kg (11 st 11lb). I put it down to my age (49). Strangely, I feel as fit as I have ever done.

Nothing to do with WFP, as I am still a traddie!

So, I started out WFPing 13 months ago.  I weighed 15st 5lb.

I now weigh 13st 4lb.

I eat like a horse.  Today is pretty typical.

Cereals at 6am with full-fat milk
Bacon sandwiches at 7:45 (4 rashers)
Two rounds (i.e. 4 slices of bread) of thick cut rare roast beef sandwiches during the day
Bottle of Coke
Mars Bar
Home to a slap up meal (proper dinner, cooked from raw ingredients by the current Mrs Vin).
Can of Boddingtons.
I'll probably eat a couple of bananas this evening.

Yet, 90% of the windies I see seem to be carrying more than the average in the way of lard.  How do they manage?

Vin

It'll depend on your age and metabolism for starters. Things change as you get older. In time you may find you put on weight, but then again you may not if you're fortunate enough. Its in the genes just as much as in what you eat. Cholesterol levels are affected by what you eat and by what your genes are like. Same goes for metabolism.

10 years ago I was doing 6 or 8 cans of red bull a day with no weight increase at all, if I did that now Id be 20 stone. Thankfully I dont and therefore Im not. Things change, remember.

Its also said that weight around the midrift is a sign of contentment. So perhaps they have something you dont  ;)

That must be it then. I am definitely more content now than I have ever been in my life!

I worked it out today. In the past 13 months I've gained 650  customers. At an hour for a first clean, I've spent 16 full working weeks doing first cleans (on top of the maintenance cleans). That'll be the explanation, as I'm on my knees after a day of firsties.

How I stay fat is that I bring my whole attention to my work to make it as easy as possible.

For example, while working every footstep is calculated; I never go back to my van to get something I've forgotten - I forget nothing - therefore I never use unplanned steps or go over budget with my walking allowance.

I reckon this saves me at least three miles a year walking, and when calculated over the long term (if I live that long without contracting coronary heart disease), I reckon I'll have shaved of 30 miles over the next ten years.

I'm the same with exercising my dog; I use a 'thrower' it (saves bending (something that never bothers Squeaky) and makes throwing the balls physically less demanding) and three balls.  My dog never brings the balls back to me, so each round of making him run after said three balls involves me doing Pythagoras type calculations to ensure that he does more mileage than me.

Simple really.

Leafleting really does work.
