rust marks running onto window
« on: June 08, 2011, 08:33:02 pm »
Hi guys, any advice on this one really appreciated.
Got a new customer, v large house, absolutely lovely {not envious at all}. It has a floating glass wall affair at the back, four double french doors that open all the way. Above the doors is a beam that has rusted and marks have run all the way down each glass door. I cleaned for the first time today and they have asked me to do what I can with the marks.
What do you reckon will possibly shift these runs/marks?
Tvm.

hi tom so u got some run marks on the inside of the French doors?
if so you can trad them or re open the doors and pole the insides if they open outwards.

Hi Crystal, it's staining on the outside due to rusty water coming down from above. Not from my superlative wfp technique  :)
It looks like limescale marking but worse.

how bad are the stains? it should come off with wfp if they open outwards , or a godo scrub with the mop and some hot water?

They are pretty bad. Cloudy white in colour, about 1 to 1.5 cm wide and there is no way they will come off without some form of chemical treatment.

Winsol is probably worth a try. I had some rust runs on some glass from a leaking and rusty cast iron gutter, winsol cleared it up.

Daft as it seems lemon juice lifts rust marks off the like of blockwork on drives so it may be worth a try. (fresh not jiff) and no I'm not joking, good clean afterwards. it worth a try if your stuck.

Let me know when you will be about, it's in the van so whenever really. Will be in Timperley all day tomorrow so if you are about.

Also, any chance of borrowing your scratch repair kit?
