« on: June 07, 2011, 03:41:18 pm »
been contracted to remedy this problem.....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r2jp_hdlQTY&feature=youtube_gdata

a garage serviced a car and didn't put the oil cap back on

any suggestions?

I've got the job and have made no promises, the owner just wants the bulk of the spill removing so it isn't walked into the house

Hi Mike,

http://www.oiltechnics.co.uk/Oil_Stains/BlockDrives/index.html

There is two types, one for normal block drves/concrete, and one for especially for tarmac.

I havent hd the need to try mine yet, but from what i hear it does that job well.

Good luck with it

cheers,

Matt

Matt that might work on the garage floo,r but as it says on their website.....

....Note − Oil stains degrade Tarmac and Asphalt leaving behind an etched surface which appears as a dark stain − this cannot be removed

I can already get the oil and crap out its the staining thats the problem

The thing is with tarmac, it has oil in its make up as you probably know already (teaching and sucking eggs come to mind ;D)

So if you want to remove the staining thn it will leave a different, oil free stain in the tarmac where the tarmac oil has been removed along with the motor oil.

I guess this is going to be one of those ''this is as good as i can get it'' scenarios..

use a tarmac paint after you've removed the stain to get the tarmac 'back to black'... all uniformal now and no etching, plus more work for you and maybe repeat business in the future when they want it re-blacking  ;)
