Here in South Yorkshire you would be very lucky to get £10 per hour for office cleaning, So the figures stack up even less if we serviced 6 jobs at £10 each including tavel to sites then pay cleaner £48 (8hrs
@£6 per hour) then there fuel insurance materials cost to purchase vehicle maintenance on vehicle .
You would be making a loss .
Thats the reason we dont bother.
We only chase 2hrs a day minimum x 5 days thats where the profit is.

hi
i have contacts in barnsley and rotherham who charge more than 10:00 for office cleaning. i do agree 10.00 is tight with minimum wage,ni,holidays etc.

As dave says its a volume game on 2 hours not worth it, but on 100 hour a week contracts well worth it.

I think our friend who quoted 63.00 was basing it on experience from cc work, none of us would carpet clean or window clean for 21.00 per hour but these are far more specialised and a different discipline to contract cleaning.

These days offices are about good standard, done at low rates but lots of hours. then it pays.

cheers

john

Who would not WC for £21 pre hour!! We can mostly find casual window cleaners (and some good ones) for £10 per hour, so my maths says £21 is ok- generally.

As the figures here have been well covered can I just add that if you are going to claim to offer prices on your website please do so but if you would rather not don't, to try to pretend that your pricing is open and clear may cause more harm than gain

Your website is very good but by the time I read the prices and discovered nothing I did feel let down, not the best start

Last word on prices we have some as little as £9.50 per hour for a 25 hour week but this is backed by a healthy window cleaning charge and over the last few years that we have had the customer it has given a most healthy return. Don't always get hung up on the "hourly" rate as their is more than one way to make a profit

i think you haven't looked hard enough. there is prices on our website, just not for every service. we used to have just links to the services with prices e.g. rental cleaning, oven cleaning etc, however decided that it would be best to leave no confusion to the customer when they go to the prices page in hope that for instance office cleaning prices are there but can't find any mention. we now have it explain why they aren't which imo is clearer a better

so Kermit, the customer goes to your prices page, and the only price that is there as a clear and concise price is oven cleaning.

The rest are either not there as you do not wish to compete with your competition, or are guestimates......

Methinks that you maybe need to look at your site with the eyes of a customer...

Just a thought like..... :-*

appreciate it but never had a clear problem with it. customers call or email to book based on the prices on our website and often say to me before i've had a chance they understand it's just a 'guestimate'. from a customers point of view if we only had pages for services with prices this would be confusing as there'd be no mention of office cleaning price or even why it's not there, this way there is an explanation of why we need to see the work. i'd only end up saying the same on the phone so this way it saves the convo and they know what to expect before they call.

plenty people on this forum have prices page and then don't show prices but instead some line about how they'll never be beaten on service etc etc. it's standard stuff happens all the time. heck i bet it's the exact same on your site.

How do you know you lost it on price?

Maybe the customer didn't like you.
