urgent pump help
« on: June 05, 2011, 05:35:33 pm »
i have a vyair 5l pump that got sprayed with water when one of the pipes slit when filling my tank and i was worried that water got into the pump so i took it apart, to the diaphragm of out dried it all not put it back together.

Now heres the problem, the pump works but there is not much pressure there, there isnt much coming out at the brush head. there is reasonable water flow coming out of the outlet, but when the flow at the brush has stopped the the pump keeps turing, the controller doent cut in and the pressure switch doesnt either.

This is a pump problem not a controller problem, when the flow has stopped at the brush head, the pump doesnt sound like its struggling like is should do when the pressure builds up when there is no flow.

Can anyone help, i have taken it apart a second time to see if i missed something out, but it all looks ok.

Lee,its a 100psi pump and it will keep pumping when the pressure drops to 80psi or below. Have you adjusted the switch?

If the diaphragm is out of position slightly it would cause those problems,..

it's all sorted now, took it apart for the 6th time  :o  and noticed a seal was in the wrong place, dried everything, made sure everything made good seals and it's all working properly  :D

Lesson learned take more notice of where everything goes when taking something apart.
