Ceramic tile cleaning, Please?
« on: October 09, 2005, 10:02:39 am »
What do you keep ceramic wall tiles in bathrooms clean with?
Just maintenance cleaning.
I'm just wondering if there is an easier way.  I'm using all purpose window/tile wash stuff and polishing off with soft cloth (sort of all purpose heavy duty J cloth).
It comes up alright but time consuming.
There must be an easier way?  Any advice apreciated

hi there,

we use microfibre cloths and our standard wash room cleaner, spray on wipe off, buff, quick job.  any stubborn marks scotchbrite 3m professional non abrasive scourer.

hi there,

i would express a level of concern at using car polish in a washroom.

whilst we dont expect people the eat in the washroom, chemicals in the washroom,  have adequate COSHH control methods.

i dont know if car polish would.

regards

I think the bottom line would be, is that the  job it was designed to do, in this case no, so you wouldn't be covered. But I can't think of any problems ariseing from using car polish though. I use glass cleaner  ::)

Car Polish is covered, I use a brand from Asda and I have contacted the supplier and he has given me some information with regarding to safety etc..

As far as Insurance policy, I have checked with my insurers and it's ok!!

It reaaly does save time for the regular cleans, especially in our hard water areas. Limesacale doesn't stick and just a quick wipe over it really does give a high shine.

You need to replace the polish every six weeks or so.

We use it, our clients really love it,better than anything else.

I didn't expect so many replies.  Thanks
Car polish tip is good, but not sure about using in residential home.
They're a bit keen on proper use of right stuff.
I'm using windowcleaner mix spray at mo. Meets Coshh.

One of our cleaners cleans over 50 sinks along with the associated tile work in her shift and swears that using our glass/stainless steel cleaner is far better then any of the washroom product. No smears, no buffing and everything gleams. The client has commented how much better they are as well.

Can’t think of anything easier.
