so how much scrubbing and rinsing do you all do?

ive seen some right cowboys, must be leaving spots everywhere!

ive recently started scrubbing and rinsing more ever since ive noticed quite a few of the windows i do have spots on them  

new method...

1) i have now turned up my water flow one notch for better rinsing, downside i use more water!
im double di only using a 35lt trolley, with tap water tds of 300ppm but i only use wfp for anything above ground floor

2) i now scrub the frames longer and rinse the the top edge of the frame for a couple of seconds to avoid drips!

3) i used to only scrub the glass once then a really quick little rinse with hardly any water presure
(i think this is what cuased the spotting in the first place as well as a lack of scrubbing)

so now i scrub the glass twice and more on the tope sides and bottom where there prone to
spotting in my experience.

4) rinsing, i now rinse with more water presure and start at the top of the glass and slowly from side to side and downwards rinse the glass all the way to the bottom.

5) finally i brush the sill backwards and forwards 2 or 3 times

i know im going into detail but i feel its necessary, because i dont wont to start losing custys cos of the spots
or even worse have to replace hard water stained glass  

ive checked some of these spots and they wont come off   there defo water marks that need some work to get off
they dont even come off using trad ive tried  

now my new method takes a bit longer but what are all your methods?

It's all down to technique.  And you have to develop your own which takes time, no short cut.

In the meantime here's a tip:  Scrub scrub scrub, rinse rinse rinse, eyeball eyeball eyeball, just for good measure scrub scrub scrub, rinse rinse rinse, on to next window!  If they're going to be regular cleans then it's in your interests to make sure they are spotless for next time.

I wonder if you used WFP on the ground floor whether you might notice the dirt on the frames dripping off.

I'll explain. When I do the 1st floor of a house, experience tells me to scrub hard on a 1st clean. When I srtart to clean the downstairs I remember why. The dirt just runs down off the top of the frame. I'm pretty certain I leave a near perfect job every time. The trick is to get the first clean right I think.

a lot mate i must use a great deal of water as you said justabout the . splash and dash brigade.theres a lot of them about mate.

If they're going to be regular cleans then it's in your interests to make sure they are spotless for next time.

That's the thing. Get the first one right, then it's a doddle. After two or three cleans, a house that took 40 minutes first time should be 10-15 minutes.

i always take alot, and i mean alot! of time on first clean, but i think its the maintenance cleans ive become to slash and dash on! and improper technique

and i think not having anough water flow has cuased the dirty water im not rinsing off to stain the windows! 

how many times do others go over the frames and glass and how much rinsing do you all do?

like i said, i now scrub frames once, scrub glass twice & and rinse alot more all the way to the bottom of glass (especially on glass that doesnt "curtain" rinse if you know what i mean!?

In fact, I'm glad you mentioned using plenty of water, coz I do, and I thought I must be overdoing it to much  . Then before I go, I do a last visual check to see there are no spots or crap marks. Anyroadup, avnt lost a customer yet

ive always checked the windows before i leave the job and theyve always looks gleaming!!! thats the shocker!!!

you cant see these ghost spots/water marks, unless you are up close to the glass which i never am cos as i said im only wfp above ground floor!

i never knew this was even a problem till one custy complained and i went inside to look for myself

thanks tosh, yeah ive started doing my own wpf now, i do a really slap dash job to to try and get spotting!

so for ive noticed a very small amout of water marks on my own glass i suppose months of doing a slap dash job relults in water marks and they just build up with each clean

ive also started doing the odd custys ground floor window, to see the results close up too

tosh ive always thought one scrub on the glass is enough too but now im srubbing glass twice and a complete glass rinse with a higher flow rate

also is it true that to check your using enough water you should collect 1ltr of water per jet, per minute?

Far better - and better results, and quick too.

But TBH unless you are getting lots of complaints i wouldn't worry too much.

im not really getting many compliants but im suprised cos some of the glass looks very spotted 

i might look into the fan jets, what do others think to fan jets?

i think at times mate we all are a bit guilty of unwittingly of not getting them perfect ,    When i am behind schedule i always try and get them off a lot faster if weather is bad ,   in order to get caught up but  i do know what you mean but i have only had to double rinse the odd window and door ,  Due to every where been so dusty with the warm dry weather ,  but i have noticed the odd spots on door glass never had any complaints though

I've tried fan jets, but don't like them.   Pencil jets much better, more control over direction of flow when needed.  Much more risk of overspray with fan jets.
